The Buggy Walk concept is for at-home mums, dads, grandparents, or caregivers who are at home during the day with children under the age of 5. The walks are to encourage parents to meet and form regular strolling groups in parks with others, providing them with an avenue for socialisation and exercise in a healthy environment. It also brings about the positive aspect of visiting our Regional Parks and Forests with the Greater Wellington Regional Council. This website will keep you informed of upcoming walks in your area, and allows you to view previous walks and photos.

Be part of the fun! Vector Wellington Round the Bays is coming up on February 18th. This is a fun, inclusive run/walk event catering for people of all abilities from non-competitive to competitive. The course starts at Frank Kitts Park and follows the waterfront bays over a 7km distance, finishing at Kilbirnie Park. All participants entering the fun run/walk must complete an official Vector Wellington Round the Bays entry form or register online.

All children under 5 years of age are free to register ? so bring your buggy! Whether you are running or walking the event, we do ask participants with buggies to place themselves behind the runners or walkers respectively.

The Greater Wellington Regional Council website has all the parks and forests listed, and is a great tool to see how to get there, opening hours, the route of the track, how long the walk takes, the grading of the track, and to see if the track is buggy friendly or not.
