Story Time
Most libraries run a story time session where children can listen to stories, rhymes and songs. These sessions are aimed at 2-4 year olds but younger children can also attend. Ring your local library to find out more.
The Plops
The Plops are set to take over the country as NZ's answer to The Wiggles! A bunch of Mums who wanted creative work that won't take them away from the kids to much & keeps them working too. The name "The Plops" came about cos they're not affaid to have fun and be silly. They write their own stories and already have a following in the under 2's!
Toy Library
Play is important to all children and toys are a major element in helping to play and learn. A toy library welcomes children, their families and caregivers to come and to borrow well designed toys, games, puzzles and equipment, which are made available at minimal cost.
Toy Libraries operate along similar lines to public libraries. Members borrow toys for a fixed time period. Fees vary from library to library. Toy libraries cater mainly for pre-school children and generally have a limit on the number of toys that can be borrowed at each visit.
